Visitor Information Center would like to present the Faqous Festival 2012, which is going to take place in Beit Sahour during 21st and 22nd of June 2012 in Ush Gurab park.
What is Faqous???
Faqous is a delicious variety of cucumber. The town of Beit Sahour is famous for the small fields of boasting rows of faqous plants, which are plentiful across the town.
The Faqous Festival includes dabkeh performances, bird watching and nature hikes with the Palestine Wildlife Society, tasty faqous recipes and other cultural activities.
What more to see in Beit Sahour?
Beit Sahour is famous for its Shepherd’s Fields – the place where the Angel Gabriel appeared to the shepherds and asked them to follow the star to the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem, the place of Jesus’ birth. Towns of Bethlehem and Beit Sahour is just next to Bethlehem – the towns are joined together.
