The ruins of an early Byzantine church built over the prophet’s tomb can still be seen today.

The walk is 13km and will take around 4hrs. The route begins on paved road for about 5km and then continues on the dirt paths of Wadi Artas before reaching Tequa.  In Tequa, the group will enjoy a locally prepared traditional meal in a family’s home.

The walk is mostly downhill, though there are a few steep uphill sections. This isn’t a very difficult walk, but you should be at a reasonable fitness level (able to walk for three hours straight).
